Job Description:

Cornerstone Montgomery is seeking (2) part-time Life Skills Counselors. The Life Skills Counselor facilitates groups, models and evaluates skills, and supports individualized learning Foundation Day Program participants. He/she is also responsible for implementing goal plans developed by the respective individual; this includes assisting the individual in developing life skills, social skills and other non-clinical areas of support to promote independence and community interactions. Through the experiential learning process, participants can internalize the knowledge and gain the ability to apply the skills appropriately. The position requires working with clients during the evening activities and then transporting clients home.  Must be capable of driving large passenger van.  The position is 24/hrs per week.

Experience and Skills:

* Bachelor’s degree in a related field. High school diploma and equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience can be substituted.
* Knowledge of public social services programs and policies and service planning, current community health, social services and mental hygiene resources and how to appropriately link people, preferred.
* Maintains up-to-date knowledge and compliance with HIPAA regulations and client’s privacy rights.
* Must have access to a personal vehicle and possession of a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record (as determined by HR) required. May be required to transport clients in personal and/or agency vehicle.
